NaNoBoston — and our phenomenal Wrimos — have always excelled at raising funds for National Novel Writing Month. Our Wrimos’ generosity has shown itself at the Donation Station, in raffle ticket purchases, and through the NaNoBoston Store.
The NaNoBoston Store
The NaNoBoston Store is online! In addition to in-person purchases at NaNoBoston events, Wrimos (and your friends and families!) can buy NaNoBoston merchandise from anywhere. Our NaNoBoston branded merchandise includes pens, tote bags, travel mugs, and a large selection of buttons.
We also have an exclusive collection of hand-knitted writing gloves by Karla Hailer (Pikagirl). These unique, handcrafted items are made especially for NaNoBoston!
Donation Station
At every event we have what we call the Donation Station. It’s a fancy glass box where you can donate cash toward NaNoWriMo. You can give as little or as much as you want, and there is usually a bag of candy for you to choose from even if you can only give a quarter or two. All donations are greatly appreciated!
Raffles
At our Kickoff Party in October and our Thank Goodness It’s Over event in December, we like to up the fundraising game by offering a few raffle items. Sometimes it’s a stack of books, sometimes it’s a basket of tea, once it was a tarot deck. You never know what you could win, and of course, all proceeds go to NaNoWriMo.
We also hold a 50/50 raffle where the winner gets 50% of the proceeds generated by that raffle. It’s a win/win situation!
